Get involved

Become a volunteer

You can come near the Ukrainian border to help refugees on the ground. NGOs and municipal services are providing food, water, blanket, warmth, transport and shelter for the night.

But with 40 000 Ukrainian refugees arriving at Przemyśl’s train station a day, every hand is useful and highly welcomed.

This can be as simple as carrying people’s luggage, orienting them to the right train platform, bus stop and organisations, distributing sim cards, providing wifi, calling their relatives, giving them a ride to the nearby shelter, or help other volunteers carry equipment.

Follow the 4 easy steps below to become a volunteer.

I. Sign up

Use the form below to sign up. We will reach out to you ASAP.

II. Accept trip offer

Once we are able to form a group, we will send you the details of the next trip.

III. Book flight

The only thing you need to contribute is booking the flight to Krakow or Rzeszów.

IV. Join the team on the ground

We will meet you on the ground in Przemyśl.

Donate to the cause

We want to make the process for our volunteers as easy and as affordable as possible.

Therefore, we raise money to lower the costs for our volunteers:

    • Costs for minivans to transport refugees and volunteers
    • Costs for accomodation for volunteers

What we do

We support and organise volunteering at the Polish-Ukrainian border to help refugees. We provide all information to volunteers, book accommodation and transport, contribute financially and organise volunteers groups on the ground.

What is happening on the ground

The modest Przemyśl’s train station is a major intersection for Ukrainian refugees arriving in Poland, then transported throughout Europe. They arrive directly by train from the main Ukrainian cities: Lviv, Kiev, Odesa, Zaporijia, Kharkiv.

Some take the bus, their car or even cross by foot to reach Medyka, a modest town 2km away from the border, and from there to Przemyśl with a few suitcases and bags.

The city’s mall has been turned into a shelter for families to rest in a warm place after a stressful journey and before they reach their final destination. Local and international organisations manage the arrival with the help of volunteers, under the police and military surveillance.

The situation on the ground: Refugees arrive from Medyka at the train station (A). We transport the refugees from the train station to a refugee in a transformed supermarket (B).

Who we are

We are a group of volunteers from Italy, Germany, and France who organize volunteers to improve the situation of refugees at the Polish-Ukranian border. We have volunteered in Przemyśl and planned to come back soon with more people for a longer time period.
